WOODBURY, CT (WFSB) - Police said a chair was intentionally set on fire on Saturday evening in Woodbury.

This happened around 7:30 p.m. near Upper Grassy Hill Road and the airfield.

Officials said the fire department successfully contained and extinguished the fire.

“Due to the region’s ongoing dry conditions, this fire posed a significant risk of spreading into a larger brushfire,” said the Woodbury Resident Trooper.

Authorities are investigating this as a “suspicious fire”.

Police asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Woodbury Resident Trooper’s office at 203-263-3400, or to reach out directly to Officer DeFeo or Officer Pelletier.

No further information was released.
