WARREN Over 100 dogs were up for adoption at a Healthy Hearts and Paws Project (HHPP) event in Warren Saturday afternoon.

The shelter is near capacity with adoptable pets, the organization decided to host a "My Gotcha Day" adoption event where the community could meet some new furry friends face to face.

"We are running out of room in reality," Lori Lukco, a Healthy Hearts and Paws Project Volunteer said. "We figured if we could have an adoption event, have the public come out and do applications here, they can meet the dogs in person and hopefully find a loving connection with one of them."

HHPP President and CEO Jason Cooke said the organization has taken in another 19 dogs over the last 36 hours, leaving all indoor and outdoor kennels at their location full.
