A recent report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics highlighted a contrasting trend in construction jobs between Idaho and Washington.

Idaho was among the top five states for construction job growth in the past year, adding nearly 5,000 jobs. This represents a 6.8 percent increase for the Gem State.

Meanwhile, Washington experienced a loss of more than 11,000 construction jobs, marking a 4.9 percent drop.

The Associated General Contractors of America attributed the job cuts to labor shortages, with 92 percent of construction firms reporting difficulties in filling open positions.
