ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Saturday night, the community is helping raise money for the funeral service of a man killed outside of an auto parts store earlier this week. Police say Ismael Tena shot and killed 47-year-old Richard Newman and 18-year-old Jesus Valdez following an argument over an oil filter last weekend at O'Reilly's Auto Parts off of Coors and Blake.

Tonight and yesterday, the co-founder of the Paleta Bar held a fundraiser to help Valdez's family pay for his funeral services. "It's a life, two lives being taken over an oil filter, I'm just like – it's unbelievable. Let's just educate each other, support each other, and it's really important for us, a small business, to speak up, come together, and help each other out," said Dipo Alam, co-founder of the Paleta Bar.
