BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - A festival of music and small local businesses lined the Driftwood Motel.

Live music, a pool and vendors set the scene for a chance to enjoy the heat.

This is the first year for Driftaplooza as the Driftwood Motel opened in July of 2024.

The two-day event offered the atmosphere of a small music festival, highlighting what the Coast has to offer.

Driftwood Motel co-owner Eugene Schmitt says, “Honestly, we just kind of threw it together. We had an idea to do a music festival in September. There’s not a lot going on. We get kind of a slowdown with back to school and the end of summer. Maybe a month ago or two months ago, we were like ‘Hey, what are we going to do?’, so we put it together.”
