NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Vanderbilt weathered a rain delay to storm past Georgia State 70-21 Saturday night at FirstBank Stadium.
With the win, the Commodores start the season with a 4-0 record for the first time since 2008.
After Georgia State opened the scoring with a field goal, Vanderbilt took command of the first quarter. The Commodores tallied three-straight touchdowns consisting of a Sedrick Alexander 3-yard rush, a 16-yard quarterback keeper from Diego Pavia, and an 8-yard run from Junior Sherrill.
Vanderbilt had a 21-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.
