DES MOINES, Iowa —
Des Moines police say officers are investigating a Saturday night shooting in an east village neighborhood.
According to police, officers were called to a local hospital just before 8:30 p.m. to investigate a report of a man walking in with a gunshot wound. Police say the man drove to the hospital to receive care after being shot.
Police say the man's injuries are not life-threatening.
Des Moines police officers did find evidence of a shooting near SE 11th Street and E. Railroad Avenue. However, police do not believe there is any ongoing danger to the area.
