The Amarillo Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is inviting bargain hunters to shop for a cause during a three-day garage sale that began Friday, Sept. 19, with proceeds helping care for the more than 140 dogs and cats currently housed at the nonprofit shelter.

The sale continues from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 6515 Roxton Drive, where tables are stacked with donated items ranging from pet supplies and holiday décor to furniture, china and exercise equipment. Volunteers began accepting donations in July and say the community response has been overwhelming.
