Kyron Drones delivered a standout performance on Saturday, throwing for 307 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for two more, as Virginia Tech rolled to a 38–6 win over Wofford at Lane Stadium.
The Hokies, playing their first game since the dismissal of head coach Brent Pry on September 14, were led by offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery, now serving as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. The team responded with its most complete outing of the year, improving to 1–3.
Drones was highly efficient, completing 27 of 32 passes and spreading the ball to 11 different receivers. He threw touchdown passes to Devin Alves and Ayden Greene in the second quarter, helping Virginia Tech build a 21–0 lead by halftime. The offense totaled 461 yards—its highest mark of the season.
