While summer months are widely regarded as the height of the tourism season in Santa Fe, industry leaders and a local official say business remains strong in the city long after Labor Day, and one of the best months has yet to come.
Randy Randall, executive director of Tourism Santa Fe, the city of Santa Fe’s tourism bureau, expects high visitor numbers to continue well into the fall — a change in trend from 20 years ago.
“September looks pretty strong right now,” he said. “September and October have gotten to be as good as July and August. All four months are really strong for our hotels.”
Sam Gerberding, president of the Santa Fe Lodgers Association and general manager of the Inn of the Governors and Del Charro Saloon, has noticed the same trend. “It is true, and it’s a gift,” he said
