Michigan State LB Wayne Matthews III suffers serious injury after collision against USC

Michigan State linebacker Wayne Matthews III suffered what appeared to be a serious injury with 42 seconds left in the first half of Saturday’s game against No. 25 USC.

Matthews was involved in a collision on a running play late in the half. He was down on the field for several minutes before being taken off the field on a stretcher by medical personnel.

Fox's Alex Landestoy said on the telecast Matthews has been taken to a Level 1 trauma center at the Los Angeles General Medical Center, which confirmed Matthews has motor skills.
