Over the years, an accomplished author and historian made his way from a small town in the Texas Panhandle to penning dozens of works, including his most recent novel that involved trekking thousands of miles around the little-known Texas boundary stemming from the state's fledgling days as an independent republic.
Jack Woodville London was born in the rural town of Groom, located around 40 miles east of Amarillo. He graduated from a high school class with 22 students in 1965, later making his way to study in France and at Oxford and then beginning his writing career in Austin.
