SPARTANBURG, S.C. —

Reenactors gathered at Cedar Springs Baptist church in Spartanburg County Saturday, as they portrayed the first battle of Cedar Springs. The Revolutionary War-era battle took place back in 1780, and was one of the hundreds of battles that took place in South Carolina. The state has no shortage of battle history, which is why reenactors believe it is vital for us not to forget our beginnings, and why they feel so passionately about educating the public through historic reenactment.

"We need to preserve our history, as a nation, and it just means the world to me that I get to be out here helping people do that," said Cash Cook
