Clemson, S.C. -- A handful of the players on the Syracuse football team’s roster came into Saturday’s game with vivid memories of the last time the Orange came close to a win in Clemson’s Memorial Stadium.

In 2022, the teams met with national rankings and perfect records.

Syracuse was shutting down Clemson’s offense under DJ Uiagalelei until the Tigers turned to Cade Klubnik for a spark.

The quarterback helped. So did the officials.

The game might be best remembered in Central New York for a questionable personal foul penalty on Elijah Fuentes-Cundiff after Syracuse made what looked like an important stop on a 3rd-and-25.
