MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa —

The Marshalltown Police Department is asking for help in their search for a man they believe shot two people Saturday night.

Investigators say it happened on the 800 block of East Main Street around 7:50 p.m.

When officers arrived, police say they found two gunshot victims. They say the suspect, 69-year-old Dewey Elvie Perdue, fled on foot.

The two victims were taken to the hospital. One was treated and released, the other was moved to an out-of-county medical center.

Police describe Perdue as 5 5-foot-9 9 and 205 pounds, last seen wearing dark pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt.

They consider Perdue to be armed and dangerous.

Police are asking anyone who knows where Perdue might be to call 911.
