Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened just before midnight in Minneapolis.
MPD says offers were alerted to a shooting at 11:58 p.m. Saturday, with the gunfire coming from an area near Chicago Avenue and East Franklin Avenue.
Investigators collected evidence at the scene, but the victim was taken to Hennepin Healthcare in a private vehicle. He was treated for "at least one life-threatening gunshot wound" and he died at the hospital.
The victim's identity has not been disclosed.
MPD said: "Preliminary information indicates an altercation occurred before the shooting. A possible suspect ran from the scene. One 911 caller reported hearing one gunshot and then seeing the man collapse."
No arrests have been made and police are asking anyone with information about the shoot
