SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Memorial services have been announced for the Scarborough High School assistant principal who died suddenly earlier this month.

Jacob Brown, 34, of Scarborough, died in a single car crash on I-295 in Cumberland on September 13.

Brown's obituary was posted in the Portland Press Herald Sunday.

"[Jake] had a gift for connecting with students, always keeping his office open as a place of support," Brown's obituary said. "From childhood, Jake was passionate about hockey and went on to received numerous accolades, including all-state honors during high school."

Brown coached Biddeford Youth Hockey Association's (BYHA) 18U team.
