BRAINERD, Minn. — A rural Crow Wing County husband and wife face criminal charges after their 10-year-old daughter was found dead at their home.

Heather Lynn Cross, 49, and Darcy Ronald Cross, 57, both of Pine River, were each charged with one count of felony second-degree manslaughter and one count of gross misdemeanor contributing to the need for child protection or services Friday, Sept. 19, in Crow Wing County District Court in Brainerd.

According to court records, Crow Wing County sheriff’s deputies and Crosslake police officers responded Aug. 25 to a residence in rural Pine River for a report of a 10-year-old child who had been crushed by her bed.
