(KBTX) - Texas A&M football moved up a position in this week’s AP Top 25 , while on an open week, passing in-state rival Texas who dropped to places to No. 10.

A&M also ranks No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches Poll .

Sunday’s AP ranking was the highest the Aggies (3-0) have held since Week 1 of the 2022 season when A&M came in at No. 6. It marks the 215th week the Aggies have sat in the poll’s top 10, all time.

A&M moved into the top 10 last week after knocking off then No. 8 Notre Dame, 41-40, in South Bed. The Fighting Irish moved up two places to No. 22 after a 56-30 win over Purdue Saturday.

Texas holds a 4-1 record and fell a position after a 55-0 defeat of Sam Houston Saturday in Austin.
