Kennywood employee struck and killed by vehicle near amusement park

An employee of Kennywood Park was killed when she was struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in West Mifflin.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner confirmed the death of Lorna Lee Brennen, 73. The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Kennywood Boulevard and Hoffman Boulevard.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of one of our hosts, who passed away earlier this morning,” Ricky Spicuzza, general manager of the park, said in a statement.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with their family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we are unable to provide additional information.”
