KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — Kootenai County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) says one person died following an ATV crash at Horsehaven Airstrip in Kootenai County Saturday night.

KCSO says they responded to a report of an ATV crash with serious injuries at 9:30 p.m. The crash was in the Coeur d'Alene National Forest just east of the City of Coeur d'Alene, on Forest Service Road 209 near the airstrip.

Deputies say Life Flight responded first but couldn't land due to "excessive dust created by the helicopter's rotors," due to the dry conditions. Kootenai County Fire and Rescue (KCFR) was also on the scene.
