OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Monday is a FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAY for a chance of severe storms after 5 PM.

A system from Canada will move over the Midwest Sunday night into Monday bringing a front that will initiate scattered storms. The storms will form after 5 PM during the evening commute around the metro.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Level 2 Slight risk for all of the metro and surrounding counties for damaging winds and large hail. Hail could reach up to 1″ and damaging winds exceeding 60+ mph. The tornado risk is very low.

The severe threat will diminish by 10 PM, but scattered storms will continue overnight into Tuesday.
