NEW MILFORD, CT (WFSB) - An assistant coach for the New Milford youth football team was arrested after allegedly pushing a player to the ground during Sunday’s game.

The assistant coach was identified as Daniel Fazio, 34, from New Milford.

Fazio was coaching the New Milford Bulls against the Water-Oak Youth Football Team at New Milford High School at the time of the incident.

According to police, a disturbance occurred between two assistant coaches after Fazio pushed a 7-year-old player from the other team to the ground.

No injuries were reported.

Fazio was charged with second degree breach of peace, disorderly conduct, and risk of injury to a child.

He posted a $20,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on October 2.

No further information was released.
