MCLEAN COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - An autopsy will be performed on the body of a 72-year-old woman found Friday in a Saybrook home that caught fire.
The McLean County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called about 4:10 p.m. to a home in the 300 block of West Oak Street in Saybrook.
A release said several fire departments were already on the scene, and deputies were told the home was occupied. Authorities said the woman’s body was found after the fire was put out.
The McLean County Coroner’s Office pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her name is being withheld until relatives are notified.
The sheriffs and coroner’s offices are investigating along with the State Fire Marshall.
The woman’s autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
