Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has refused to confirm if he will have a bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump amid their differences on Palestine and climate change.

Mr Albanese had hoped to meet with the President on Monday but any chances of a sit-down were scrapped due to Trump’s attendance at Charlie Kirk's memorial service in Arizona.

Asked if a formal bilateral was on the agenda for his week-long trip to the US, Mr Albanese refused to confirm.

“Well, we'll wait and see, but I won't be pre-empting those issues,” Mr Albanese told Sky News on Monday.

“Of course, I look forward to meeting with President Trump at some stage. We've had four constructive discussions.

“I'll see him tomorrow night at the function that he's hosting.”
