BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Even though you may be seeing some scattered showers later this week, the drought in Alabama continues to worsen as we head into yet another dry month .
Any outdoor burning or grilling can be dangerous if flames get out of control. Currently, over 90% of the state is abnormally dry or in a moderate to severe drought.
And as the WBRC First Alert meteorologists will tell you, we’re heading into Alabama’s driest month of the year: October.
Not only that, football season is in full swing and there’s nothing better than cheering on your team at a tailgate or backyard barbeque... but the last thing anyone wants is for people to get hurt.
If you’re not careful, a small fire can spark from your grill, spreading quickly to dry grass and vegetation.
