A section of US-24 will close for nearly a month this fall.
The closure will affect the stretch between Holiday Boulevard and Stewart Road, starting at midnight Sept. 29 and lasting until Oct. 20, weather permitting, according to a community announcement.
This closure is necessary to facilitate the replacement of the Mason Run drain culvert, a critical infrastructure improvement project jointly undertaken by the Monroe County Drain Commissioner’s Office, the Michigan Department of Transportation, and in collaboration with the City of Monroe and Frenchtown Charter Township.
The decision to fully close this section of US-24 was made to significantly reduce the overall duration of the project and enhance safety for both workers and the public.
