GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The autumnal equinox is the official start to the fall season. On top of trees shedding leaves, there are many changes that fall brings to the western slope. Of course, the aspens on the Grand Mesa hit their peak golden colors. However, the sun will also start to set earlier and rise later.

Despite all of these changing conditions, the autumnal equinox is one of the two days a year where an equal amount of daylight will be shared through all latitudes of the world.
