Several popular ranges of protein snacks have been recalled after metal was found in select batches released across Australia and New Zealand.

Australia’s food standards authority issued two recall notices on Sunday and Monday for Smooshed Wholefood and Protein balls produced by Tasti, and the Aldi alternative Made Real wholefood balls after metal was discovered in batches across the country.

The contaminated Tasti-made health snacks were available at Coles and Woolworths stores nationwide, before the company identified the “potential presence of exceptionally thin metal wire” which they claim originated from “imported raw materials used in a selection of our products”.
