TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Tuscaloosa County partners with the City of Tuscaloosa on a lot of things, but the Simplified Sellers Use Tax (SSUT), also called Alabama’s Internet Sales Tax, is not one of them.

During a recent County Commission meeting, elected leaders expressed their support to keep the current tax as is.

“We have a very strong difference of opinion in how those funds should be split,” said Tuscaloosa County Probate Judge Rob Robertson. “Right now, we feel what’s in place is sufficient. We don’t think there’ll be a change in the foreseeable future.”
