MACOMB COUNTY, MI – Police are investigating after a woman was stabbed to death at a Meijer gas station.
According to the Shelby Township Police Department, the victim was stabbed multiple times at 15031 Hall Road at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The male suspect fled the scene but was later located and taken into custody by Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies. Both the victim and the suspect are residents of Utica who knew each other, police said.
WDIV-TV in Detroit reported the woman was stabbed by her ex-husband.
“This was not a random attack,” police said in a statement. “There is no threat to the public.”
The victim and suspect have not been identified by name.
