Travelers at Detroit Metro Airport might want to be extra careful not to cut it close for flights the week of Sept. 22.

The tram that quickly ushers passengers between gates in the McNamara Terminal's mile-long Concourse A is out of service through Sunday, Sept. 28 , for scheduled maintenance, according to airport officials.

The concourse is a mile long, end-to-end, with the security entrance in the middle.

The tram is expected to return to service on Monday, Sept. 29.

The stoppage began on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 21.

Moving walkways in the concourse are still available during the maintenance period, said Matt Morawski, Wayne County Airport Authority director of communications and external affairs.
