Vermont has temporarily banned outdoor burning amidst a historic drought impacting the entire northeast. The National Forest Service has also implemented restrictions on campfires for the Green Mountain National Forest.

On Monday, the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation announced that it has told all town forest fire wardens to not issue burn permits until further notice.
