MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - A new statewide ban in Vermont means you can’t burn any debris until dry conditions let up.
Officials with the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources say that because of the severe drought and high fire risk, town forest fire wardens cannot issue burn permits until further notice.
Falling leaves can become fuel for fires.
Make sure you check with your local restrictions before lighting anything up.
And a statewide burn ban is now in effect in New Hampshire.
Officials say there is a high fire danger, so all open burning is banned except in campgrounds.
