EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) - An affidavit is shedding some more light on a weekend Evansville Police officer involved shooting.

According to Evansville Police, officers were around Virginia Avenue and Canal Street when they saw a stolen 2019 Toyota Corolla traveling east from the intersection.

Officers arrived as the vehicle went into the Rally's drive thru on Virginia.

After officers positioned their vehicles and approached, the two suspects reportedly fled on foot. One of the suspects was Jailani Chew, who was the passenger. The driver, a juvenile male, was shortly detained.

EPD says Chew ran across the street to the On the Fly gas station and allegedly ran up to a black Chevy SUV and demanded the driver to give up the vehicle while pointing a firearm at her.
