TIFFIN, Ohio — A high school and university in Tiffin were placed on lockdown Monday following concerns of an armed subject in the area.

According to Tiffin police, officers responded to a domestic dispute on Rebecca Street involving a subject who brandished a firearm and fled towards a wooded area near Rock Creek.

Police stated Calvert High School and Heidelberg University initiated lockdown procedures "out of an abundance of caution," while officers and K9 units searched the area.

Authorities reported that the subject was no longer in the vicinity, and both lockdowns were safely lifted. Police stated that no students, faculty or staff were in danger at any point during the lockdown.
