LOGAN COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Paris native has announced his intentions to run for late Sen. Gary Stubblefield’s seat in the Arkansas Senate.
Ted Tritt announced his run for the now vacant Senate District 26 seat, the third Republican candidate to do so.
Former Rep. Mark Berry of Ozark and Paris businessman Brad Simon have already announced plans to run for the now-vacant seat. Senate District 26 covers portions of Franklin, Johnson, Sebastian and Logan counties, and the seat was held by Stubblefield until his death on Sept. 2.
Tritt said in a new release that he had multiple people reach out to him and ask him to run for the state Senate seat rather than the House District 46 seat that he announced for in August. House District 46 is held by term-limited Rep. Jon Eubanks (R-Paris)
