FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A juvenile allegedly connected to a reported bomb threat at Northside High School in Fort Smith last week has been taken into custody, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.
FSPD said in a news release that a minor was taken to the Sebastian County Juvenile Detention Center on Sept. 19 for threatening to commit an act of violence at a school and threatening a bombing. Their case has been referred to the juvenile court system.
The department said on Sept. 15 that officers responded to the school after a threat was reported. A sweep of the building was conducted and no device was found.
FSPD said its Criminal Investigations Division continued the investigation through the week and identified a suspect.
