OMAHA, Neb. —

Omaha Steaks broke ground on a new $20 million food safety facility.

The facility, set to open in June 2027, will feature cold pasteurization technology, a process that enhances the safety of ground beef without compromising quality.

"This will be the first palletizing cold pasteurization facility in America," said Nate Rempe, president and CEO. "With this new facility, we’ll be able to process full pallets efficiently, reducing costs and environmental impact."

The project is expected to create 75 jobs and reduce the need for long-haul trucking, cutting fuel use and supporting sustainability efforts.

"This is earth-shattering for our business and the future of America's protein consumption," Rempe said.
