OMAHA, Neb. —

Investigators said 20 Omaha-area businesses sold alcohol to minors earlier this month.

The checks occurred Sept. 9, 19 and 20. This was the highest rate of noncompliance in nearly 20 years.

Officials said 20 of the 121 businesses checked were cited.

The Mega Saver at 54th and Center streets could face penalties, such as a suspension of alcohol sales.

This was the first violation for all 19 other businesses cited. They could also face suspension of their licenses, as well as fines.
