WASHINGTON — A 17-year-old high school student is being charged as an adult after allegedly shooting an off duty D.C. firefighter walking home from a party in Capitol Hill over the weekend.

U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro announced Monday that 17-year-old Marcellus Dyson Jr. was charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and aggravated assault while armed for shooting and injuring an off-duty firefighter, Gary Dziekan in D.C. Saturday night.

The firefighter was walking home when officials say Dyson approached him, wearing a surgical mask, around 8th and C streets in Northeast.
