The Oldham-Ramona-Rutland School Board is moving forward with its plan to shore up the partially demolished Ramona site despite concern about potential high costs.
At a special meeting on Sept. 19, board members approved a fee evaluation bid of $233,000 from Hausmann Construction, the first step toward a full construction manager at risk contract to bring the Ramona site back to a safe and usable condition, which will be set for approval at a later date. This evaluation covers Hausmann's estimated construction fees and general conditions costs, which includes items like project management, site supervision and safety measures. The bid was approved in a 4-1 vote, with several community members as well as board member Brooke Albertson sharing their worries for the project's price tag. ×
