Lake County 911 Communications will widely launch a new messaging system in late September or early October, and the dispatch director wants the public to know that it's not spam.

April Denholm, 911 communications director, told the Daily Leader that the county has a new text-based alert service, TextMyGov. In the coming weeks, she plans to send out a mass text message through the service to let people know about signing up. She wanted to alert the public about the new system and the upcoming message so people do not believe they are getting scammed. ×
