The Lake County Commission approved its 2026 provisional budget of $11.3 million at a special meeting on Sept. 23, though some uncertainty lingers on the county's portion of a road and bridge levy.

The budget came in with $6.3 million in the general fund and $3.5 million for the Highway Department. Commissioners considered four options for budgets, choosing between 3% or 2% wage increases for employees and whether or not to shuffle around expenses to take advantage of additional Highway Department funds. ×
