Driver arrested after vehicle slams into Mount Pleasant health building

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas (KETK)-- A woman was arrested Saturday evening after she crashed her car into the Health and Human Services building in Mount Pleasant.

According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, around 5 p.m., a single vehicle crashed into the front of the unoccupied building located at 1014 N Jefferson Ave.

During the crash investigation, officers found that the vehicle was driving south and had struck a utility pole, severing the pole located north of the building. The vehicle then went southbound and struck the southeast corner of the building, causing major damage.

The driver, Cassandra Sanchez, 36, of Titus County, was arrested Saturday for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon. She
