HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A Hartford City Councilman is once again being looked at by police.
The I-Team has learned a city report that found Alex Thomas misused a city-issued purchase card, was referred to police and prosecutors for possible criminal charges.
Last month, the city’s Internal Audit Commission had found Councilman Alex Thomas used city money “inappropriately.”
The investigation revealed Thomas misused a city purchase card for “Personal gain” while attending a conference in Washington DC with his family.
Auditors say he charged more than $500 of unauthorized expenses on the card.
The city says they didn’t end up losing any money, because the unauthorized expenses were ultimately deducted from his travel reimbursement --But Audit Commission Chairman Bruce Rubenstein told
