CANTERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - A person was flown to Rhode Island Hospital after suffering a serious chainsaw injury in Canterbury.
At around 5 p.m., The Canterbury Volunteer Fire Department responded to 127 Lisbon Rd for reports of a leg injury from a chainsaw.
Fire officials say they made a quick judgement call to request Lifestar air ambulance because of the seriousness of the victim’s injuries.
A landing zone was prepared at Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School.
“Once Canterbury Ambulance arrived on scene, patient was transported to the awaiting helicopter at the middle school,” said Christopher Phelps, Canterbury VFC, Public Information Officer.
The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
