ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - An off-road vehicle crash is serving as a reminder that your first layer of help might already be in your pocket.

The Hayes Crossing-Haldeman Fire and Rescue posted on social media about a UTV crash that had gone off a cliff in Rowan County last night.

The post said two people were hurt and that it was in a remote area, but the two were saved thanks in large part to an iPhone crash detection alert.

The two were able to be located, and that alert is what got first responders on the move.

Firefighters said if you keep the iPhone or Apple Watch crash detection on, emergency crews can get notified in real time of your situation and location.

It could help save your life.
