KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The Kanawha County Board of Education has selected a new member to fill the seat of former board member Tracy White.

White recently resigned from the board , citing personal reasons.

The board selected Michael Arbogast on Monday evening for the vacant seat.

Board members told WSAZ he was selected because of his experience within the Kanawha County School system.

Arbogast started as a school service personnel member, then became a teacher and eventually served as the principal at South Charleston High School.

Ric Cavender, president of the Kanawha County Board of Education, told WSAZ the board wanted to act quickly to fill the spot.
