[DES MOINES, Iowa] — Gov. Kim Reynolds announced that Kelly Garcia will resign as Director of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) next month. Larry Johnson, currently the Director of the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals and Licensing (DIAL), will succeed her.

Garcia expressed pride in her tenure, highlighting efforts to support Iowa's families and improve health care access. She played a key role in managing Iowa’s public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
